The Supportive Counseling Program provides long-term counseling to survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence, their family and friends. As well as providing training to mental health professionals and students as contracted with the Office of the Attorney General.
Some of my duties include:
- Recruit graduate and undergraduate students to fill internship positions with the agency
- Provide information and referrals in face to face contact or contact made through the crisis hot-line. Placed on rotating schedule with other staff members to see walk-in clients and answer hot-line.
- Provide long-term individual and group counseling to survivors of rape, incest, child sexual abuse, and marital rape, their families and significant others.
- Provide presentations and trainings to community agencies and community mental health professionals/ facilities and students.
- Serve as liaison to community mental health professionals/ facilities.
- Provide in-service training for agency staff.
- Supervise student interns
- Serve as liaison to contract counselors
